1. Improving Navigation and Product Discovery
One of the main opportunities identified through testing was the difficulty users had in finding the right product quickly. To address this, I redesigned the main navigation structure so it could scale as new categories, services and marketplace areas were added.
This improvement went beyond the menu itself. I also worked on a more effective search experience, where the search bar started returning similar suggestions based on what users were looking for. This helped reduce the effort needed to reach a product page, lowering the average path from 4.6 clicks to 2.3 clicks.
As a result, the search bar became the main product discovery tool, increasing usage from 12% to 46%.

Fine-Tuning the Experience Before Launch
2. Redesigning Product Cards for Clarity and Accessibility
The original product cards showed several accessibility and readability issues during usability testing. Most of the work here was focused on UI refinement, but with a clear UX purpose: helping users understand, compare and act with more confidence.
I improved the information hierarchy, adjusted content emphasis, and addressed visual accessibility issues that were making the cards harder to scan. These changes made the product cards clearer, more consistent and easier to use across the marketplace experience.
I joined the Médis Marketplace project in its final stage, shortly before launch. The visual design had already been created by an external agency, so my role was not to redefine the creative direction, but to make sure the experience worked clearly, efficiently and confidently for real users.
With limited room to change the UI foundations, I focused on UX validation, behavioural analysis and conversion optimization. Using Contentsquare to monitor user behaviour and Useberry to run usability tests, I identified key friction points across navigation, product discovery, product cards and purchase flows.
The insights helped shape a set of focused UX improvements designed to remove hesitation, improve clarity and support long-term scalability.
3. Creating Clearer and More Flexible Homepage Banners
The original homepage banners had limited flexibility and did not communicate key actions clearly enough. I redesigned the banner system to support stronger messaging, clearer visual hierarchy and multiple user paths from the same content area.
This gave the internal content team more freedom to build richer promotional banners, while still keeping the experience structured and user-friendly.
The impact was significant: banner interaction increased from 3% to 17%, showing that clearer entry points and stronger content hierarchy helped users engage more with marketplace content.
Key improvements included:
-
A redesigned main navigation structure, built to scale as new categories and services are added.
-
Improved product card layouts, addressing accessibility, readability and decision-making issues found during testing.
-
Clearer homepage banners, with stronger messaging hierarchy and more focused entry points.
-
Usability and accessibility recommendations across marketplace acquisition flows.
-
A continuous feedback loop using analytics, behavioural insights and user testing to prioritize improvements.
4. Optimizing Acquisition Flows and Reducing Friction
Several improvements were also proposed across the marketplace acquisition flows, especially around accessibility, information hierarchy and path finding.
The goal was to reduce hesitation and make each step easier to understand. By improving how information was presented and how users moved through the flow, the experience became clearer, more accessible and less dependent on trial and error.
These changes helped reduce friction in key journeys and supported a smoother path from product discovery to purchase intent.
5. Building a Continuous UX Feedback Loop
To make sure the improvements were guided by real behaviour, I helped establish a continuous feedback loop using Contentsquare, usability testing, behavioural analysis and user feedback.
Contentsquare sessions helped identify where users were hesitating, dropping off or struggling with content flows. These insights were then combined with testing through Useberry, allowing us to validate improvements before prioritizing implementation.
This data-informed approach contributed to a measurable performance uplift, with the marketplace conversion rate improving from 1.8% to 4.2%
This project reinforced an important lesson: even when joining late, UX can still make a meaningful impact. By listening to users, observing real behaviour and focusing on scalable improvements, it is possible to turn a nearly finished product into a clearer, more usable and more effective experience.
